2024 Fantasy Outlook
Jones signed with Jacksonville during the 2022 offseason and subsequently had a career year with 82 catches for 823 yards and five touchdowns. 2023 was a much different story, with Jones bothered by a knee injury for most of the season and ultimately finishing with 321 yards in nine games . He's thought to be healthy now, but the Jaguars released Jones this spring after signing WR Gabe Davis and drafting WR Brian Thomas in the first round. The 29-year-old hooked on with the Cardinals in May and should move into the No. 2 WR role behind rookie Marvin Harrison, giving quarterback Kyler Murray another intermediate option with good speed for a tall receiver (6-2). WR Michael Wilson likely will be the No. 3 wideout in more of a possession role with TE Trey McBride also vying for targets. Read Past Outlooks

Interesting landing spot in Arizona
Jones and the Cardinals agreed to terms on a contract Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones' deal is reportedly a one-year contract worth up to $4.25 million, per Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com. The big-bodied veteran was released by Jacksonville after the team's selection of Brian Thomas in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he now finds a landing spot in the desert with a clear path to starting in three-wide sets. Rookie fourth overall pick Marvin Harrison profiles as the alpha in Arizona's wideout room, while tight end Trey McBride could be quarterback Kyler Murray's second-most-trusted playmaker, but Jones could well solidify himself over fellow wideout Michael Wilson. Jones was limited to nine games last season, but in 2022, he logged a 82-823-5 receiving line on 121 targets.

Raiders TE Michael Mayer and Colts WR Adonai Mitchell are two of the many players whose volume projections had to be adjusted downward after the 2024 NFL Draft. RW's Jerry Donabedian breaks it all down.
Most of the big ADP changes can be easily explained, but there are also guys like Isiah Pacheco and Kenneth Walker dropping down the ranks for unclear reasons.
Jerry Donabedian looks at details for all the big free-agent contracts and notices that age seems to matter as much as skill when it comes to running backs.

Latches on with Cardinals
Jones has agreed to a one-year deal with the Cardinals, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran possession receiver gives Kyler Murray another weapon in the team's revamped wideout corps that's now helmed by rookie fourth overall pick out of Ohio State, Marvin Harrison Jr. Jones was released April 30 by the Jaguars after an injury-riddled 2023, but he should compete with Michael Wilson for a starting job in Arizona.

Jones finished 2021 strong in Las Vegas and earned a three-year, $24 million contract in 2022 in Jacksonville, where he quickly became a favorite of Trevor Lawrence's in the short passing game. Jones' aDOT dropped from 14.0 his final season in Vegas to 8.6 his first year in Jacksonville, with the trade off career highs for targets (121), catches (82) and receiving yards (823). It would've been a bigger year if not for his league-high 13 drops, and his lackluster 6.8 YPT was easily topped by teammates Christian Kirk (133 targets, 8.3 YPT) and Evan Engram (98 targets, 7.8 YPT). Better efficiency seems likely this year, if only because it would be hard to drop that many passes again and third-year QB Trevor Lawrence figures to continue improving. On the other hand, Calvin Ridley is replacing an over-the-hill Marvin Jones at wideout, making Zay unlikely to approach last year's volume.
