2024 Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
A fourth-round pick out of Georgia in 2022, White actually started ahead of James Cook when the two were in college. Cook saw more immediate opportunity at the NFL level, but after a strong final month to the 2023 season and following the free agency departure of former workhorse Josh Jacobs, it's possible that White will have a starting opportunity of his own in 2024. So long as the Raiders don't add a standout running back in the NFL draft, it's likely that White would go into Week 1 as the best pure runner among the Raiders running backs. In close games the Raiders could be inclined to feed White, if only to keep the ball away from the likes of Aidan O'Connell, and there's a chance that volume could bring the best out of White as the gets the chance to wear down defenses. Where things get more sketchy is on the question of pass-catching production – White appears to be a below-average passing-down back, to the point that even an unwanted free agent pickup like Alexander Mattison would likely grade as the better passing-down player. If White can't claim the passing-down work then his workloads could fluctuate from week to week given that the Raiders are probably liable to fall behind early in games, but in games where White can accumulate carries his speed and motor might pose a challenge to defenses. RANKS
On track to pace Las Vegas backfield
Following the 2024 NFL Draft, White continues to profile as the Raiders' top backfield option, Vic Tafur and Tashan Reed of The Athletic report.
ANALYSIS
Since the end of last season, the Raiders notably bid adieu to Josh Jacobs, who had served as the team's top RB since 2019. Following free agency and the draft, White remains projected to pace the team's rushing corps in 2024, with newcomer Alexander Mattison on hand to work in a complementary role, while Ameer Abdullah and rookie sixth-rounder Dylan Laube profile as change-of-pace options. Though it remains to be seen how much volume White yields to his teammates, the 2022 fourth-rounder nonetheless appears poised to see a significant enough uptick in touches (after recording 104 carries and 15 catches in 17 regular-season games in 2023) to maintain weekly fantasy utility this coming season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Top of depth chart for now
White could head into the season as the Raiders' lead running back after Josh Jacobs signed with the Packers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After Jacobs' departure, White heads a Las Vegas backfield that also currently includes Ameer Abdullah and Brandon Bolden. White impressed over the final weeks of the 2023 campaign, racking up 397 yards on 4.7 yards per carry over four games while Jacobs was sidelined, and the Raiders seem to have confidence in the 2022 fourth-round pick. Nonetheless, it wouldn't be a surprise if the team added another back in this year's draft.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
White never projected as a viable starter in the NFL, both for skill limitations and even more so because of durability. He plays with a ferocious motor and inflicts punishment on both tacklers and himself, which is why he had trouble staying healthy at Georgia. He had two ACL tears early in his collegiate career and then missed two games late last season with an ankle injury. When White has a lane to hit, his speed usually gets him through, but unfortunately he didn't get much chance to prove that as a 2022 fourth-round pick, taking just 17 carries in 14 games last season. If White can't make it as a rushing specialist in the NFL, he likely won't make it at all because pass-catching is not part of his game. And as long as workhorse Josh Jacobs is healthy, White doesn't figure to see many carries.
