2024 Fantasy Outlook
Reid has been entrusted with heavy action in the Chiefs' secondary each of the last two seasons and has delivered his best IDP campaigns to date. He posted career-best marks in 2023 with 95 tackles (74 solo) and 3.0 sacks, adding an interception and a forced fumble to the ledger. Reid should maintain his status as a key piece on the back end this season and figures to garner plenty of attention in formats that utilize defensive players. He also figures to be the veteran in a young defensive backs room following the departures of L'Jarius Sneed and Mike Edwards this offseason. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Career-best stats in 2023
Reid racked up a career-best 95 tackles (74 solo), 3.0 sacks and one interception over 16 games during the 2023 regular season.
ANALYSIS
Reid thrived in his second season on the back end of Kansas City's defense, posting career-best numbers for tackles and sacks despite sitting out the regular-season finale. That said, Reid graded out as the No. 122 safety on PFF. In particular, he struggled in coverage (No. 141 overall). Even so, Reid has a solid history at the safety spot and statistical numbers that likely support keeping him for the final year of his contract in 2024.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Kickoff duties a possibility
The Chiefs are considering Reid as a kickoff specialist for this coming season, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The new kickoff rules the NFL is adopting from the former XFL could involve kickers being involved in tackles much more frequently than in seasons past. Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub confirmed he wouldn't want placekicker Harrison Butker involved in that level of physicality over the course of a season, and Reid, who has proven both a capable kicker and proficient tackler from his safety position, could therefore be a candidate to handle kickoffs.

After spending his first four years as a pro with the Texans, Reid joined the Chiefs on a three-year, $31.5 million deal prior to the 2022 season. Reid lived up to the contract in his first year with the team, nearing his career high for tackles (88, set in his 2018 rookie season) by notching 83 stops, while adding a sack. The 26-year-old should operate in a similar role in 2023, though he'll need to familiarize himself with a new fellow starting safety in the wake of Juan Thornhill's departure in free agency.
