Today is like Christmas for NFL teams. Some teams will have their stockings stuffed with gifts, and some with coal. Until today, I have undertook the impossible practice of predicting the picks without trades. Today, I make an even more ridiculous prediction by trying to predict the trades that will happen in tonight's first round of the NFL Draft. Enjoy the craziness that follows. It'll make tonight seem rather tame. The Green means a team traded up to that spot, the pale red means the team traded down. All in all there were five trades predicted.

Tony Sparano has been named as Miami's new head coach, replacing Cam Cameron. Sparano, who will be the Dolphins' fifth coach in five years, had been the Cowboys' assistant head coach. He is reunited with Bill Parcells, who he worked with in Dallas in 2003-06.

The Dolphins on Wednesday signed general manager Randy Mueller to a two-year contract extension. Financial terms were not disclosed. Mueller originally was hired as the Dolphins' GM in June 2005 after spending the previous three years as a television analyst. The team enjoyed an impressive season in Mueller's first year, winning the final six games of the campaign to finish 9-7. But Miami struggled in a 2006 season marred by injuries to key players and finished last in the AFC East Division at 6-10. Mueller also served as the GM for the New Orleans Saints from 2000-2001. He was named NFL Executive of the Year in 2000, when New Orleans went 10-6 and posted the first postseason victory in franchise history. Mueller hopes to have similar success with the Dolphins, who aim to rebound from a 2006 campaign tainted by a disappointing performance from quarterback Daunte Culpepper. Mueller engineered a trade with the Minnesota Vikings to bring Culpepper to Miami last season. But the three-time Pro Bowler was limited to just four games in 2006 while rehabilitating from reconstructive knee surgery.
