Wei-Yin Chen: (Knee) Recovery Moving Slow

Posted on January 9, 2014 at 5:26 PM

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said that Chen has been "a little slow" in his recovery from knee surgery, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

Chen underwent a procedure in October to have bone spurs removed from his right knee. He was originally expected to be ready for spring training, but manager Buck Showalter's words put that into doubt. For the injury to affect Chen's Opening Day availability, his progress would have to be more than "a little slow". Hopefully, something more substantive will be available in the coming weeks.
