Marshawn Lynch: Positive Reports on Ankle Injury

Posted on August 16, 2010 at 9:33 PM

Coach Chan Gailey revealed that Lynchís ankle injury may not take as long to heal as first believed, reports. "I think itís not a major injury by any stretch of the imagination and I would think he could be back by the last preseason game," said Gailey.

That's good news for Lynch's Week 1 status, but it still doesn't solve the problem that he's going to miss more practice time in a new offense, and that's after skipping some voluntary work in the offseason. He's also competing for time with Fred Jackson and rookie C.J. Spiller. Still, if you're throwing darts, perhaps Jackson has to miss a week or two of regular season action, Lynch shares time with Spiller, impresses the coaching staff, and wins a decent regular season role. That's a lot to count on, meaning to us he's worth no more than a final pick or a $1 endgame guy.
