Jermaine O'Neal: Playing through Injury

Posted on December 4, 2013 at 5:09 AM

O'Neal said he has a torn ligament in his left wrist that will require surgery, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The backup center is going to try to delay the procedure for as long as possible.

There's no word as to when O'Neal was first diagnosed with the torn ligament, or how long he can realistically put off the surgery. The veteran big man has averaged 22 minutes (9.6 PPG, 6.2 RPG) in the past five games and is coming off an 11-point/eight-rebound outing in 23 minutes in Tuesday night's win over the Raptors. He's managed to be productive despite the injury.
