Hutchison won a spot in the starting rotation, and his first outing is scheduled for the Blue Jays' second regular-season game, Tuesday in Tampa Bay, CBC.ca reports.
ROTOWIRE FANTASY ANALYSIS
With J.A. Happ (back) on the disabled list, both Hutchison and Dustin McGowan will open 2014 in the starting rotation. Hutchison likely would have earned the final rotation spot, but Happ's injury ensures that both he and McGowan get a chance to start. Hutchison had a fantastic spring, and he was one of the Jays' better prospects before undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2012. Completely healthy and still just 23 years old, the right-hander makes for a particularly interesting sleeper pick now that his spot in the rotation has been confirmed.
