Though he was stuffed twice in close during last Friday's preseason game against the Cardinals, McFadden is still viewed as a viable goal-line option to Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, CSNBayArea.com reports. "Iíve always had a belief that the No. 1 back can still be the goal-line back, doesnít have to necessarily be a bigger, stronger guy," said Knapp. "My experience tells me so, last couple years it was Arian Foster (who) had a lot of success. Warrick Dunn was one of the best inside-tackle runners I've ever been around as a coach. It's not just the back that requires the execution of the play. So it didn't bother me to have (McFadden) in there, we just didnít get it executed across the board."
ROTOWIRE FANTASY ANALYSIS
McFadden's explosiveness and ability to hit the hole make him a nice weapon in both real and fantasy terms, and if he can retain the majority of the Raiders' goal-line work -- and it seems that the team is open to that possibility -- then his upside only increases. As always though with McFadden, the larger concern is his ability to stay on the field, as he has yet to make it through a full season unscathed through his first four NFL campaigns.
