Chipper Jones: Questionable With Sore Right Foot

Posted on May 21, 2009 at 10:20 PM

NEWS UPDATE

Jones aggravated a bunion on his right foot and his status for this weekend's series against Toronto is uncertain. "A lot is going to depend on how I feel tomorrow," he told the team's official web site. "I've got swelling on the joint already. We'll just wait to see. It was hurting playing defense the next inning. We'll just have to see how we wake up. I don't know what you can do for it."

ROTOWIRE FANTASY ANALYSIS

Jones said he aggravated a bunion that caused him regular discomfort in 2004 and 2005, but doesn't think the injury is serious. The foot injury is a worry because he missed six weeks with a torn ligament in his left foot in 2005. Although that injury was to the opposite foot, it initially had similar symptoms.
